Simmons and Pritchard led the Celtics to victory against the Bulls

Brown misfires but it didn't matter — Simons and Pritchard stepped up to carry the Celtics past the Bulls and into second place in the East.

The Boston Celtics climbed to second place in the NBA Eastern Conference after defeating the Chicago Bulls 115-101.

In the game after tying his career-best 50 points, Jaylen Brown was limited to just 14 on 6-of-24 shooting. Despite his poor performance, the Chicago players failed to capitalize and scored only 33 points in the first half. The Celtics now have a 23-12 record and have overtaken the New York Knicks in the standings, while the Bulls are 17-19 and occupy 9th place in the Eastern Conference.

Anfernee Simons was the top scorer in the game with 27 points, all of which came after the break. Payton Pritchard scored 21, and Nemias Keta added a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds.

For Chicago, Matas Bouzelis scored 26 points, Ayo Dosunmu had 15, and Nikola Vučević recorded a double-double with 15 points and 15 rebounds, to which he added 7 assists.
